This lid will fit all of our Jelly & Mason Jars. Gold Button 70G Lids have a plastisol lining which allows them to be used for hot fill canning. These 1 - piece lids have a button that aids in determining whether a vacuum seal has taken place. Not suitable for high-heat canning.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: As always, consult your specific method or recipe for guidance on canning. Preheat your jars as directed in simmering water or hot oven as directed for your contents. Simmer lids for 5-10 minutes to soften and prepare liner for canning. Pour HOT contents into the pre-heated jar and cap quickly with prepared hot lid. When the lid is placed on the jar, the softened plastisol liner will begin to form itself to the top of the jarbeginning the seal. As the contents cool, a vacuum seal is created. Many times you will hear a popping sound as the vacuum is created (especially with a button lid), however you do not always hear a pop even though the seal has been achieved.
